Background

Ms. Watanuki is a Consultant at Research and Consulting Service Unit at NXLRIC since 2018. Prior to joining NXLRIC, in her early career, she was in the freight forwarding industry with Yusen Logistics where she gained her experience in ocean / air transport, forwarding, and trade and shipping arrangement. Moreover, she worked for the Trade and Competitiveness unit at the World Bank as a Trade Facilitation Analyst. She engaged in upstream advisory services in the trade transport logistics domain to promote international / regional trade and to reduce trade costs for governments in Africa and South East Asia. She contributed to trade logistics policy notes that help clients promote international and regional trades and reduce their trade costs from the logistics aspect.

In addition, she understood the issues for Japanese companies to develop business in overseas when she was with PwC Advisory from 2015 to 2018. She engaged in both conducting market studies, competitor analysis and proposing strategic recommendations to strengthen infrastructure exports for governmental entities and private entities, aiming to enter overseas markets.

She holds MA (International Educational Development / Africa) from Columbia University Teachers College (New York, USA).
