KANAZAWA Masaaki

Background

Mr. Kanazawa joined NXLRIC in 1992. His areas of expertise are research surveys of domestic and international logistics regarding ports and logistics policy proposals to the government and local authorities. In 1997, he was on temporary assignment to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT, formerly the Ministry of Transport) for 3 years, engaging in data analysis such as freight demand forecast and economic ripple effects. Following that, he was responsible for wide range of research and consulting regarding ports and sea transport. These include marketing and logistics strategy development of ports, logistics streamlining, facility enhancement planning and promotion of modal shift. In addition to his extensive experience in ports and sea transport, he was also involved in various other projects, including truck, rail and air transport, as well as Third-Party Logistics (3PL). He is also a specialist in overseas research and consulting, such as logistic situation, market trends, and field surveys around the world, especially in Asia. Currently, he has further widened his areas of expertise to passenger transport, such as taxis, and research surveys and consulting to improve labor issues, such as shortage of truck drivers and work conditions.

He holds BA in International Politics from Hiroshima University.
