Background

Mr. Komatsu joined NRIC in 2005 and his areas of expertise include large-scale logistics optimisation projects and logistics business strategy planning for leading companies. He currently manages overall activities of both domestic and overseas research and consulting projects.
Initially, he worked for Recruit Co., one of Japan’s top publishing companies. As the head of the Logistics Group, he developed nationwide network of parcel distribution and he also improved and optimised the publisher’s logistics systems, including network and inventory optimisations, restructuring the logistics management system, cost-down proposal, and implementation and outsourcing. Additionally, he managed the development of the mail-order logistics system, privacy information protection and call-centre operations.

He holds a B.A. in Education from Yokohama National University.
